Balloons Floating in the Air
Dear Link School teachers, aides and administrators,
We are incredibly grateful for your work, teaching, organisation,
service, love and care for Mattias and our family the past couple of
years. Your countless hours of thoughtful labour and attention to
students and their families not only go unnoticed, but has been the
hallmark of the Link School with every student receiving what they need
and deserve. Thank you for your experience that you provide so wisely
and intimately and for many students to be continued to be touched.

Linking with Parents

An essential dynamic

The relationship between the school and the parents is crucial if we are to be successful. The staff are committed to working closely with parents and we welcome their involvement in their child’s education. We have a high teacher/ pupil ratio and the obvious benefit of this is reflected in the progress the pupils makes.

Our Parent's Portal allows parents to keep well informed of what is happening in school including parent correspondence and newsletters that detail the current events. These newsletters and correspondence are vital  as some pupils are unable to describe the activities in detail. Our Parent's Portal also allow parents to access any information regarding the school's policy, as well as other useful school information. You may also find useful information about our school's policies and operational procedures here.

Working with Parents

We have a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and all parents and staff are members. Meetings are held during the year. Social and fund raising events are also arranged. A parent is elected chairman and represents the parents on the School Management Committee.

The parent teacher meetings usually take place towards the end of each term. The first meeting takes place early on in the academic year to discuss with parents and agree what the targets will be for the term. At the end of the school year there is a comprehensive written report called the annual review and this is sent home to parents in advance of the meeting. This report summarises all that the pupils has achieved during the year.

Durin the year newsletters are sent home. They provide information on any developments at school and there is a summary of what has been happening during the term. The newsletter includes any special events such as Art week, sports days or day camps.

School Hours

The Link School operates from 9:00am to 2:45pm. The door opens at 8:55am and the first lesson starts at 9:00am. Pupils should be punctual in arriving school each day to minimise any interruption caused by arriving late. The number of days of late arrivals, early dismissal and days absent will be reflected in the school report. If your child is unwell, please inform the school before 8:45am.

School Uniform

We have a school uniform which we expect all the pupils to wear while they attend school. The uniform consists of a white tee shirt and trousers for boys and skirts for girls, separate white tee shirt and shorts for PE lessons. The pupils must change for this particular lesson. During colder weathers pupils can wear a pullover.

School Fees

We make every effort at school to give the parents good value for the money they spend on their child’s education.  Fees are paid by 12 monthly installments.

Permanent Withdrawal

When the time comes for parents to withdraw their child permanently then a letter giving the date of withdrawal should be sent to school. The school requires one month’s notice of a permanent withdrawal.

Inclement Weather

In the event of bad weather affecting Hong Kong we follow the advice given by the Education Bureau. During these times if the pupils are at school our main concern will be their safety and well-being. If during school time an announcement is made that lessons will be suspended, we rely on parents making every effort to quickly come and pick their child up.
